Headteacher's Message

This week has been a combination of saying good-bye and of new beginnings. On Thursday we said good-bye to our fantastic Year 11s and this will be followed by tonight’s Leavers’ Ball. Our Year 11s have been, and will always be, excellent ambassadors for our school and I wish them every success for the future. As I have written in their Year Book: ‘Aim high and work hard’. ‘As you go onto the next stage of life’s journey remember the many talents you have; you are talented beyond your imagination’. Great things lie ahead for each and every one of them.

New beginnings – there have been many this week! Year 10 students applying to be Head of School presented in Thursday’s additional assembly and I was really impressed by their confidence and clarity of message. Each student has produced a simple summary of their presentation and this will be included in next week’s Family Bulletin. We have also had the pleasure and privilege of welcoming all of next year’s Year 7 and they have already made a very good first impression! Through my 1:1 meetings with each family, I can already see that they are an immensely talented year group and I am delighted that so many families have chosen Ixworth Free School for the next stage of their academic career…more

These students have undertaken degree level study and have been fortunate enough to work with a PhD researcher. The programme started and finished with a visit to a university and students have met undergraduates and received guidance...... more
